Job Description
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment at two to three By the Sea Resorts hotels. They oversee a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that all hotel standards are met. The Chief Engineer must be able to manage staff effectively resolve problems quickly and efficiently and have a strong understanding of hotel engineering systems.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment at two to three By the Sea Resorts hotels including HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems and appliances
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that they are meeting all hotel standards
- Schedule maintenance shifts and assign tasks
- Train new maintenance technicians
- Inspect hotel facilities and equipment to identify and repair any problems
- Resolve guest complaints and issues related to maintenance
- Order and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and policies
- Stay uptodate on industry trends and best practices
- Work with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance to develop and implement the hotels overall maintenance budget
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field
- 5 years of experience in a hotel engineering role including at least 2 years of experience as a chief engineer
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Strong understanding of hotel engineering systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
