Description
Intern I Active Adult Centeris an integral part of the Recreation Division with the City of Greeley.

Anticipated Hiring Range:$15.14 $17.89 hourly

Job Summary:
Intern I Recreationis an integral part of the Recreation Division with the City of internship is a valuable opportunity for the Intern to gain significant realworld experience that will aid them in their transition from student to recreation professional.

This is a seasonalposting and may be closed at any time.

Experience Knowledge Skills:

  • Upperclassman status at a fouryear university with a focus in recreation hospitality sports science marketing or other related field of study.
  • Current certification in CPR First Aid and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required.
  • Experience and knowledge of computer operations and use of software packages including Microsoft Office applications desired.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills desired

Essential Functions:

Depending on Internship Focus:

Program Management

  • Create implement and manage a variety of recreation programs for both youth and adult populations.
  • Develop program rosters schedules and coordinate facility use for events and competitions.
  • Ensure marketing materials website and social media sites are updated with accurate information.
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors instructors and other external groups.
  • Track inventory and order supplies and equipment for programs.

Facility Operations

  • Learn and use recreation management software RecTrac for entry desk operations including membership sales program registration facility rentals and point of sale services.
  • Learn and use Connect to Concepts for operations documentation.
  • Assist with ensuring marketing materials website and social media sites are updated with accurate information.
  • Follow and assist in the enforcement of risk management and emergency response training.
  • Process and assist with promoting membership sales at the Ice Haus.
  • Aid patrons in registrations for activities programs and events.
  • Maintain and update family and organization accounts.

Personnel & Fiscal Management

  • Recruit hire train schedule supervise mentor and evaluate volunteers and parttime staff.
  • Utilize scheduling software and monitor employee hours in accordance with budget.
  • Conduct trainings for staff and volunteers on a regular basis related to a variety of topics.
  • Develop and mentor volunteers and staff to ensure quality instruction and leadership.
  • Assist in the development of program budgets and ensure expenses align with approved budget.
  • Develop reports and performance measures in support of Department and Division fiscal goals.
  • Monitor and report onbudgets and ensure cost recovery goals are being met.

Marketing

  • Coordinate with the Communications and Engagement department to develop marketing materials that adhere toCitys design standards.
  • Develop marketing plans for specific operation areas.
  • Produce print social and web materials.
  • Develop and conduct surveys and assessments of customers and community.

Work Environment andPhysical Requirements:

  • Frequent and heavy contact with the public and City employees in person and by telephone.
  • Frequent interruptions.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings weekdays nights weekends evenings and holidays.
  • Work is performed in an open office environment with heavy noise levels at times.
  • Vision to perform physical activities read computer keyboards reference books and other written documents.
  • Strength and stamina enough to walk stand stretch bend lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity enough to complete daily work such as operate computer keyboards drive and operate motor vehicles and operate other office equipment and complete paperwork.
