Job Title: Project Controls Engineering Intern
Location: Martinez CA

Internship Overview:
MTZ Renewable Fuels Refinery is excited to offer aProject Controls Engineering Internship within our Engineering Department. This internship provides a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain handson experience in project development and execution while learning about budgeting forecasting cost control and scheduling practices within the renewable fuels industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of communication and reporting networks for project data gathering and analysis.
- Support project teams in monitoring schedule status and adherence to budget constraints.
- Help maintain project work breakdown structures in accordance with MPC & Project Controls standards.
- Participate in the review of project performance measurement systems (Primavera P6) and reports on contractor progress.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with project control procedures and reporting requirements.
- Aid in the preparation and maintenance of master program and project plans for tracking purposes.
- Analyze engineering progress and provide input for regular schedule updates.
- Engage with various departments to gather information and assist in problem resolution.
- Participate in the development of working schedules and preliminary phased schedules.
- Learn about resource loading data incorporation into schedules and assist in manpower estimates for projects.
- Support the Project Managers in creating and monitoring shortterm schedules and identifying scheduling issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Data Science Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Basic understanding of project controls scheduling and budgeting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability for a 1012week internship with flexibility in scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or coursework experience in project management engineering or construction.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Primavera P6 Microsoft Project) is a plus.
- Interest in the renewable fuels or petrochemical industry.
