You will be a member of the Legal Division of Euroclear SA/NV which is the operating holding company of the Euroclear Group.
The role
You will provide support to our group parent companies in Belgium and our Central Securities Depository (CSD) Euroclear Belgium with focus on the areas of governance corporate law and regulatory issues.

Your responsibilities
As a Legal Advisor your tasks will include:
- Daytoday and project legal support to the group Corporate Secretariat function on questions of corporate law and governance;
- Advising on corporate ESG legal and regulatory developments;
- Supporting strategic and regulatory group projects from a governance and regulatory perspective;
- Preparing discussions with regulators on governance and regulatory matters;
- Assisting on other (business) projects or matters where regulatory and governance knowledge may be required;
- Supporting our Belgian CSD Euroclear Belgium in a diverse range of projects which may involve dematerialisation settlement corporate actions collateral management or corporate law projects. For this you will work in close collaboration with our legal team dedicated to the support of the French Dutch and Belgian CSDs (the ESES CSDs);
We also give opportunities for working in a transversal manner with other teams of the Legal Governance and Regulatory division.
Your profile
- You have a degree in law from a Belgian university;
- You have minimum 34 years of relevant experience with company law and governance and ideally some experience with capital markets and financial sector regulation preferably gained in the inhouse legal division of a bank broker or other financial institution or in a law firm;
- You are fluentin English and either French or Dutch and a good communicator both orally and in writing;
- You have strong analytical skills and ability to translate a legal analysis into actionable business and corporate options;
- You can find pragmatic solutions without neglecting risk and details;
- You are proactive and can work autonomously;
- You are a team player and have a problemsolving approach to legal issues.
