Job Description

THE POSITION

Are you curious by nature and would like to learn the efforts that go into maintaining our state parks for everyone to enjoy The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a dependable person that loves engaging with others values safety and wishes to contribute to a cherished spot for visitors in the state. In this position you will engage with the public and ensure safety in state park operations and outdoor activities aiming to encourage the safe use of facilities. Your efforts will not only benefit visitors today but also ensure that our parks remain a cherished resource for the future!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Park Resource Ranger DCNR your primary role will involve ensuring visitor safety provide patrons with information and educate the public about park rules and regulations as you strive to protect French Creek State Park. Specific duties will involve providing information to park visitors about park facilities services nearby state parks and offering emergency assistance when necessary. Your commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment will play a crucial part in enhancing the overall experience for everyone who visits.

This role will also involve providing essential administrative support to the park office which includes tasks such as answering phone calls managing email correspondence and assisting visitors with their inquiries. The position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities including the preparation of written communications and reports managing reservation systems issuing necessary permits and collecting applicable fees. This multifaceted role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the park office and enhancing the overall visitor experience.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
