Job Title: Male Head Cabin Leader
FLSA Status: Full Time Temporary Exempt
Reports to: Assistant Program Director
Schedule:Varies

Rate of Pay: $450 weekly 8 weeks

Benefits: Standard; FullTime Temporary Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
Sick leave benefit 1 day per month 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual isprorated for parttime hours.)
Function:
A High Peak Camp Head Cabin Leader will provide direct guidance and support to all Cabin Leaders with the assistance of senior leadership staff. Ensure that safety and appropriate supervision is provided for all campers at all times. Act as a guide and support for Cabin Leader staff serving to uplift them. This position will adhere to the Camp Code of Conduct support the Christian camping and ministry culture as well as uphold the mission and practices of The Salvation Army and its doctrine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
GENERAL DUTIES:
Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
Assist with the cleanup of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
Assist with Camper checkin and checkout.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Safety and Supervision
Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
Assist with the cleanup of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
Prepare and deliver the Head Cabin Leader camp brief at the end of the summer.
Assist with evening cabin supervision
Attend and participate in Staff Orientation.
Attend and participate in all camp wide activities camp fires staff meetings and staff devotions
Assist with Camper checkin and checkout.
Weekly Responsibilities
Meet weekly with senior leadership and communicate needs program changes and concerns related to Cabin Leader staff and campers.
Encourage and support the Cabin Leader staff through prayer and oneonone meetings.
Assume responsibility for the direct supervision of Cabin Leader staff.
Be present at the Initial Cabin Meetings of cabins rotating around as able and providing support.
Assist with cabin management when and where needed.
Complete any required forms as may be related to camper or program evaluation or health documentation.
Complete the daily entries required in the Camper Log book as needed throughout the day. Submit them for periodic review as required. Turn them in at the end of each week.
Attend Camp Out unless given the specific permission otherwise.
Teach and model appropriate counseling techniques to all counseling staff.
Implement a weekly Unit Meeting. This meeting should include trouble shooting camper issues briefing activities brainstorming programs prayer time etc.
Check in daily with each Cabin Leader to assess needs and areas for support.
Assist in conducting all camp program activities as needed.
Serve as an Activities Specialist as needed.
o Work in a variety of program areas to support cabins.
This may include archery zipline sports etc. and will be determined by need and experience/comfort.
o Attend all relevant inservices for areas trained.
Perform all other duties and roles assigned.
o Due to the particular nature of the camp program in session you may be asked to assist in duties not directly related to this specific job description. This is necessary for the smooth operation of the camp. Staff members are expected to comply with all reasonable requests.

Qualification and Education Requirements:
Personal relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ.
21 years of age.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (may be obtained on site).
Experience providing childcare and supervision and must love being with children.
Ability to use positive behavior management techniques with campers and an ability to adapt to difficult situations with a sense of maturity and safety.
Maintain a high standard of Christian personal living and behaviors.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to maneuver. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to grasp push pull and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information.
