Heavy Civil/Site Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities:
Ensure that all Projects assigned are following Company safety procedures & protocol: Safety Planning Utility Markouts Toolbox talks Job Hazzard Analysis/Accident Prevention Accident/Incident Investigation & reporting
Manage the Project from Internal kickoff (handoff from estimating) to closeout
Manage the Contract (know it inside and out and better than the client)
Ensure that we know our schedule commitments and plan the work to complete on time if not
early.
Assist the superintendent in ensuring that we are planning for manpower equipment material
deliveries and subs on project and coordinating Company resources to maximize efficiency and
ensure no project delays
Author the scopes of work for all subs prior issuance of subcontract and review with field prior
to work start.
Ensure that submittals and procurement are done timely and that all approved submittals and
shop drawings are coordinated and given to the field
Manage the PE/FE and work with the superintendents to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Assist in creating Daily Schedules and lookaheads and make sure that they are in line with
project needs as well as Company needs.
Drive the Project with the Superintendent to meet critical schedule dates.
Assist as needed with estimating efforts.
Ensure that Projects assigned are setup to succeed and be most efficient.
PrePlan activities with the Super and Foreman with the goal of beating labor budgets
Work with the Project team to ensure that the quality of work in place meets our own high
standards as well as meeting or exceeding those of our clients.
Maintain and review the Project Costs weekly with the Project team and SR Staff and identify
areas of RISK with plan for improvement
Work with the Project team to seek innovative ways to increase production and increase costsavings
Evaluate labor to constantly ensure that we have the most productive workforce.
Ensure that all equipment is being utilized or that it is returned if not needed.
Assist in the maintenance of Company Equipment by reporting maintenance needs promptly
Manage rental equipment to protect the company from unwarranted damage claims and return
as soon as work is complete
Complete Daily Diary every day in the proper format.
Make sure that we invoice and are paid timely for what we do and that the job is cashpositive as quickly as possible
Assist in preparation of requisitions and get owner approval on in place quantities
Understand the bid structure and what items are good and bad for the company.
Ensure that all T&M tickets are generated and signed within 24hrs of the work
Identify extra work prior to doing it and work with the PM on Client approvals.
Code and send to the office all receiving tickets properly so that invoices can be paid timely
Manage and enforce our subcontracts
Study and understand Subcontractor submittals and shop drawing Subs are an extension of US!
Ensure that subcontractors are scheduled well in advance and communicated to regularly
Hold Subcontractors to the same high standards to which we hold ourselves.
On larger projects hold coordination meetings with subcontractors.
Enforce the Subcontract we want what we bought but also be fair; if the sub is successful on
our projects they will give us better pricing next time we bid.
Make sure to process subcontractor billing timely
Ensure that backcharges are tracked and deducted in real time.
Assist the Project Team in managing the Subcontractor Change Order process.

Requirements:
Should have at least 3 years of project management experience managing heavy civil/site construction with a union construction company.
Familiar with using HCSS & ProCore for projects is a plus
