About the role

This is an exciting secondment opportunity for an internal candidate. The secondment will be for 12 months to cover maternity leave.


The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Team has a position as a Quality Assurance officer (Acting up) to complete auditing activities that support the framework of quality assurance in Barnet families service. The QAO role is integral to the family services journey in strengthening practice. Through the activities of auditing and building strong relationships with practitioners across the service and partnership in an appreciative manner they will support the development of practice.


You will be a qualified Social Worker with at least five years post qualifying experience (including management) in a statutory social work setting with children and families the post holder will have excellent communication skills and a welldeveloped knowledge base of the components for outstanding social work practice. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking audits and contributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance focusing on Barnet Family Services key priorities and to drive action to improve services. They will participate and undertake audits in accordance with the audit programme for Barnet Family Services ensuring effective and evaluative scrutiny of practice. Under the leadership of the Quality Assurance Manager and in collaboration with managers the childrens workforce and key stakeholders the post holder will undertake and coordinate audit activities to drive practice improvements in line with organisational and national standards.
The post holder will have a strong background in social care practice and will demonstrate a creative and flexible approach to evaluating monitoring and improving practice.
