Capital PLanning & Operations

WHAT WE OFFER

Fulltime Term (6 Months) Fredericton OnCampus

Standard Work Hours: Shift Work (Mostly Nights/Weekends Coverage) Variable Hours 40 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Required to provide a criminal record check.
  • Possession of valid workplace First Aid C.P.R. and WHMIS certificates and certifications must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • A valid Canadian drivers license is required.

Salary Range: $21.55 $24.09 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Patrol Supervisor the Security Patrol ensures the security of university property and the safety and security of staff faculty students and visitors while on campus.

  • Maintain physical security of buildings and grounds.
  • Perform dispatch duties (monitor the computerized alarm system and security cameras answer emergency phone maintain key control and perform telephone and radio dispatch duties).
  • Ensure that only authorized persons are admitted to specific labs offices and classrooms after hours.
  • Respond to calls for assistance including rendering First Aid.
  • Remove unwanted people from campus as necessary.
  • Complete various written reports such as occurrence reports and patrol reports.
  • Perform traffic enforcement duties as required.
  • Liaise with other agencies such as the Fire Department and Police Department as needed.
  • Assist training new security personnel.
  • Perform crowd control duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post secondary diploma in a security related field or equivalent.

Additional Strengths:

  • Previous security experience is preferred.
  • Experience with operating CCTV systems.
  • Must be willing to engage with the diverse campus community.
  • Completion of a security training course from a community college is an asset.
