The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest Illinois to perform a variety of practical nursing functions on an assigned shift on an assigned unit. Provides direct nursing care based on an individuals nursing plan of care. Assists with the admission transfer and discharge of individuals. Administers medication and assists in the maintenance of clinical records.
Performs a variety of practical nursing functions on an assigned shift on an assigned unit.
Assists physician/registered nurse with physical exams or other treatments.
Transcribes physician orders administers medication documents medication administration observes and reports/records individual responses to medication administered.
Implements interventions including steps in progressive limit setting e.g. verbal redirection timeout seclusion and restraints.
Attends mandatory training and inservice training/workshops in order to facilitate the development and refinement of therapeutic skills.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requires Illinois license as a practical nurse.
This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.
Requires the ability to work after business hours weekends and holidays.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers.
Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
