Engineering Team Manager, API & Service Frameworks

Squarespace is looking for an Engineering Team Manager to lead the API and Service Frameworks team within the Building Blocks Platform Engineering group. This team owns critical infrastructureincluding the public API gateway Javabased service framework and external developer portalthat supports both internal development and external integrations. In this highimpact role youll guide technical strategy grow and mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders to shape core systems used across the company.

You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Backend Platform team in our NYC office. This is a hybrid opportunity with three days in the office per week.

• Believe that internal platform teams should have a product mindset toward our internal customers were building things to help product engineers go to market faster not just because something is cool.
• Collaborate well with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Have experience in serviceoriented architecture design and best practices.

Qualifications:

• 6 years of backend engineering experience in Java and Spring.
• 2 years in a team lead tech lead or engineering management role.
• Experience building and maintaining frameworks platforms or developer tooling at scale.
• Strong understanding of API architecture lifecycle management and developer experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $153500 $247250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on jobrelated criteria including relevant skills experience and location among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and where applicable for eligible roles may include ontarget commissions or overtime pay) Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
