Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Provides overall leadership for the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Veterans and Military Student Success including establishing goals and objectives for the department maintaining a healthy and safe working environment and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures that impact students.
Facilitates crossdepartmental coordination completes annual performance evaluations of direct reports and routinely reviews and enhances programs for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Oversees staff utilization of the IT system for registration student access and faculty and staff access.
Ensures the integrity and confidentiality of academic records maintaining compliance with FERPA college policies and state and federal regulations.
Oversees student registration including add drop and withdrawal from courses; coordination evaluation and certification of graduation processes; and the transcript evaluation process for all incoming transcripts.
Maintains and regularly updates the colleges FERPA training.
Oversees processes for grade changes course substitutions prior learning credit and credit by exam.
Provides guidance to students faculty and staff on registration records and graduation matters.
Communicates with and assists faculty Chairs and Directors with grading and attendance reporting processes.
Leads assessment efforts and the use of data to implement innovative changes; makes recommendations for the implementation of innovative technology applications that support the enhancement of services.
Chairs the collegewide Calendar Committee and oversees the development of the annual academic calendar for the college.
Oversees the functions and regulations of the College Petitions Committee chaired by the Associate Registrar.
Compiles data and prepares relevant reports to support the colleges accreditation and compliance with external reporting requirements.
Responds to inquiries regarding student information from internal and external individuals businesses educational institutions and other agencies.
Manages departmental budgets and effectively allocates resources.
Stays abreast of related technology trends best practices and updates to relevant laws and regulations.
Complies with all published College Rules procedures guidelines and laws/regulations governing public employees including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction FERPA and confidentiality.
Strictly honors the privacy security and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state federal and college regulations policies and procedures.
Provides service excellence through courteous informed accessible and professional engagement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Vice President Student Affairs
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: A bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with four (4) years of related experience in areas of student services or a combination of completed education and/or related experience equal to eight (8) years. Prior supervisory experience is required. Must have working knowledge of student services technological resources and Florida rules and statutes in higher education.
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: A masters degree with experience in student services higher education administration or a related area.
