Job Description
A partner hospital in Springfield MA is seeking a fulltime Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for veterinarians experienced in emergency and overnight care offering a unique chance to provide compassionate care without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency and urgent care to animals in need focusing on common cases such as wound management ear infections vomiting/diarrhea and euthanasia
- Perform diagnostic tests and administer treatments including medications and fluids
- Monitor patient vital signs and ensure proper care throughout the treatment process
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure highquality patient care and communicate with clients about their pets condition
- Maintain accurate medical records using a cloudbased EMR system
Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school (or completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
- Active veterinary license in good standing to practice in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain one)
- 12 years of experience in emergency and/or overnight care
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to make quick informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment
