Job Description
Roblox is looking for an Associate Commercial Counsel to support commercial and technology transactions. Well rely on you to help us develop and negotiate NDAs SOWs DPAs and commercial agreements with main partners and support business development and internal engineering teams. While drafting negotiating and advising on a large volume of strategic commercial agreements you will consider security IP licensing compliance regulatory and privacy/data protection issues including negotiating DPAs. You will be an important team member of a small group of legal professionals and will partner with appropriate teams to improve the contracting process.
Role is based in our San Mateo CA location. We work inoffice Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.
You will:
- Draft analyze negotiate and complete NDAs statements of work DPAs and commercial transactions with the companys enterprise customers and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with the product partnership engineering InfoSec and procurement teams to achieve key business objectives and deliver strategic solutionsfocused counsel.
- Maintain laser focus on user experience to develop and deliver organizational change and alternative legal solutions.
- As a relatively small legal team supporting big projects each attorney practices across multiple areas
- Report to Director/Commercial Contracts
You have:
- JD; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred).
- 13 years of related legal experience (inhouse preferred) with at least 1 year of experience developing and negotiating technology transactions.
- Experience with enterprise software distribution strategic partnerships and/or intellectual property (patent trade secret copyright) licensing arrangements such that you are comfortable identifying key issues and improvising language as needed.
- You understand whats important in the context of a partnership or negotiation the organizations mission when to be flexible and when to draw a hard line.
- You excel as a member of teams focused on customer service and building relationships and want to develop an understanding of our mission and services
