Job Description

Position Summary:
The Northwest TriCounty IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking parttime Adult Education Instructors to provide individualized basic Language Arts math science and social studies instruction for GED Exam preparation or for entry into career or postsecondary education. Currently we have the need for an instructor to provide instruction at St. Benedict Learning Center in Erie PA working approximately 11.5 hours per week. Instructional time is 9:00 11:30 am Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays with additional hours for prep professional development and student support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited postsecondary institution or equivalent foreign credential
  • Instructors that are teaching high school level mathematics must have a secondary math teaching certification or a bachelors degree or higher

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards
  • Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students
