Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting operations in the UK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the UK accounting department ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions and providing insightful financial information to support strategic decisionmaking. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Global Finance Director and play a critical role in financial reporting including collaborating with the financial planning and analysis team.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for finalizing accounts on a monthly basis to ensure all relevant ledgers are correct and everything is in place in a timely manner to support the Global Finance Director in the production of monthly management accounts and monthly budgetary analysis. This role will work closely with the Global Finance Director to improve current financial processes and ensure all procedures become as efficient as possible. This will involve coaching and guiding two direct reports on a daytoday basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the UK accounting department operations including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll general ledger and tax compliance
  • Reconciliation of the UK sales ledger on a daily basis
  • Calculate revenue on a monthly basis in line with UK and US GAAP
  • Supervision of the purchase ledger
  • Reconciliations of company bank accounts and company credit card accounts
  • Maintain on a monthly basis accounting schedules including deferred revenue fixed assets prepayments and accruals
  • Process monthly payroll submissions
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Handle statutory submissions as required
  • Compile and process VAT returns
  • Manage the month end and year end close process for the UK and India ensuring timely completion and accuracy of all financial data
  • Lead mentor and develop the accounting team fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Create and/or maintain uptodate finance processes documentation
  • Be proactive in helping the team improve day to day accounting processes and tasks
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and initiatives
  • Stay current with accounting regulations industry trends and best practices to ensure the Companys accounting practices remain compliant and effective

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA ACA CIMA is essential
  • Relevant accounting experience along with experience in a managerial role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles procedures and regulations
  • Proficient with accounting software ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and problemsolving abilities
  • Collaborative team player
  • A proactive handson approach with a strong sense of accountability and leadership
