Job Description
Position: CDL Class C Truck Driver Full/Part Time & Seasonal
Department: Homer Tree Care Inc.
Job Summary: The Class C Truck Driver is a highly motivated and experienced driver that is detail oriented has strong communication skills and is willing to work as a team. Our drivers must always drive safely and be professional and courteous when talking with Supervisors coworkers and customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Obeys all local State Federal and IDOT regulations
- Inspects truck and equipment before leaving and after arriving at locations
- Safely transport equipment to customer locations in a timely safe and courteous manner
- Maintain driver logs and complete pretrip inspections
- Follow all Homer Tree Care Procedures and Safety Standards
- Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Maintain a clean truck equipment or machinery
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials
- Transport materials from place of origin to assigned destination
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
- Effective Communication with supervisors and coworkers
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Crew Leader
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must hold a valid Illinois ClassC CDL.
- Must have a minimum 2 years experience as a CDL driver
- Tree care service experience preferred
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Clean background check and drug test
- OSHA familiarity/training
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Diligent attention to detail and safety
- Excellent verbal communication and customer orientation
- Working conditions sometimes include both high heat and cold temperatures
Benefits:
- Starting pay is $2027/hr
- Pay is determined by experience skill education and other factors
