Job Description
Find your purpose working as a Tech in the St. Cloud Hospital Sterile Processing Department! You will spend your shiftsamongst a passionate team while enjoying incredible overnight views of the Mississippi River while you work!
What is a Sterile Processing Technician
Sterile Processing Techs are responsible for ensuring all surgical supplies equipment and instruments are properly decontaminated disinfected inspected sterilized inventoried and distributed in a quality and timely manner throughout the health system. We are responsible for use of technologies such as copier/scanner internet handheld devices electronic medical records instrument tracking systems inventory management systems email and Microsoft office. Our Techs enjoy working under close supervision with little autonomy.
We work in an area that is never seen by our patients. However the impact we have in our patient care is immeasurable. Without clean and sterilized surgical tools the surgeons would not be able to save our patients lives. I enjoy the great diversity of our team and being a part of the growth and development of each staff member. It is rewarding to see new staff with no prior experience or knowledge of the department join us and grow into an experienced and knowledgeable employee or a leader within the unit. Schedule:
- Nights 9hour shifts (9pm 6:30am TuesFriday).
- Fulltime 72 Hours every two weeks
- Occasional weekends and holidays rotate as needed.
Pay and Benefits (Total Rewards)
- Wage rates start at $17.06 per hour offering more with experience.
- Overnight shift differential is $3.00 per hour after 10pm
- Weekend shift differential is $1.05 per hour when occurring.

Duties:
- Performs decontamination assembly inspection disinfection case cart management and sterilization of medical devices and equipment.
- Handles sterile items in a manner which will not compromise their integrity.
- Good communication to effectively work with team members and customers.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED graduate or equivalent required.
- Expect 8hour shifts of standing/walking.
- Be able to push/pull up to 75lbs lift up to 25lbs routinely.
- Able to tolerate heat while wearing personal protective equipment.
- Is able to work in an environment with frequent noises alerts and disruptions.
