Job Title: GM Procurement
Reporting To: Head of Procurement
Role Summary:
The GM Procurement will oversee the procurement of equipment and services related to wind solar Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and spares for both new projects and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing costeffective procurement strategies handling vendor relationships with OEMs EPC firms and various service providers and ensuring the timely delivery of equipment. This role will also provide strategic support in bidding and tendering processes and will play a key part in contract negotiation.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy &
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for renewable energy projects (wind solar BESS) and O&M activities.
- Plan and execute procurement activities to ensure cost savings timely delivery and quality assurance.
- Streamline procurement processes for efficiency and transparency.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Identify evaluate and onboard suppliers OEMs EPC contractors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor agreements ensuring favorable terms and compliance with project requirements.
- Handle claims and resolve contractual disputes effectively.
- Build and maintain longterm relationships with key suppliers.
Support for Bidding & Tendering
- Provide expert input and support during the bidding and tendering processes for new renewable energy projects.
- Collaborate with the business development project management and technical teams to develop technocommercial bids.
Project Estimation & Planning
- Work closely with project teams to provide accurate cost estimates and procurement timelines for new projects.
- Ensure procurement plans align with project schedules and milestones.
Team Development
- Lead and mentor the procurement team fostering a culture of excellence collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Drive crossfunctional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Electrical and an MBA in Supply Chain Management Operations or a related field is preferred.
- 15 to 20 years of overall experience in procurement and SCM. Minimum 5 years of experience in wind energy procurement is mandatory.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation vendor management claims handling and project estimation.
- Experience in handling procurement from large suppliers EPCs and O&M contracts.
- Technocommercial acumen to support bidding and tendering processes.
- Proven ability to develop and implement costsaving strategies.
- Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills.
- Excellent communication influencing and stakeholder management skills.
