Job Description:

Join Pitney Bowes as a CDL B Truck Driver 1st Shift in Ashland Virginia at our Presort Services facility.

Your hourly pay will be $21 paid weekly with an opportunity for possible overtime.

Your work schedule will be Monday Friday from 10:00AM 6:00PM EST.

You are a performance driven individual who is committed to providing innovative service to our clients. You are approachable and relationship oriented as you contribute to Pitney Bowes success.

You will:

  • Inspect assigned vehicles per the Pitney Bowes Presort Services pretrip inspection guidelines and procedures daily. Report any defective findings immediately to the Transportation Manager.
  • Maintain a daily drivers log or route sheet for mileage stops and cargo.
  • Maintain pickup and delivery schedules meeting deadlines utilizing software tools.
  • Know and understand safety and security precautions and follow company policies and keep vehicles clean.
  • Ensure the mail is reviewed for proper dates presort slugs and a pickup slip is attached with each order prior to loading on the truck.
  • Ensure USPS equipment is used only for the movement of Live mail.
  • Return client damaged or undeliverable mail following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail.
  • Use all required cell phone applications.
  • Demonstrate safety and security precautions and follow company policies.

Background:

  • Must be minimum 21 years in age.
  • Ability to drive a CDL straight truck or equivalent.
  • Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records.
  • Ability to read a map and understand directions.
  • Ability to understand and become knowledgeable with USPS regulations and managing standards.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operators license in the state where the driver resides (CDL Class B) and meets applicable DOT requirements for CDL.
  • Minimum of six monthsverifiable driving experience and a minimum of 75000 miles in the last five years driving a Straight Truck with safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. walk stand stoop and bend with or without accommodation.
  • Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.

Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS. For completing this work Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients we are able to share a portion of that discount with them. Our national network of operating centers processes over 17 billion pieces of mail annually. We provide mailers with endofend solutions from pickup at their location to delivery into the postal system network providing optimal postage savings.
