In this role you will provide ongoing case management and community supervision of offenders participating in the Veterans Court Program with the Therapeutic Court in Fairbanks.
You will perform the initial intake/risk assessment upon initial optin to the therapeutic court program. You will also meet with offenders/participants on a regular basis to monitor the process and track compliance with courtordered requirements. You will conduct routine field visits curfew checks and alcohol and drug screenings. You will participate in court hearings and prepare written reports for all status hearings.
Serve as a liaison between the Therapeutic Court participant and professionals in the justice system and local social service agencies.

AND
One year of entry level professional experience in probation parole criminal justice juvenile justice social services corrections criminal investigation public safety or law enforcement mental health substance abuse treatment rehabilitation or case management.
Substitution:
Four years in any combination of post secondary education from an accredited college and/or paraprofessional experience in probation parole criminal justice juvenile justice social services corrections criminal investigation public safety or law enforcement mental health substance abuse treatment rehabilitation case management or similar work experience will substitute for the required degree.
Special Note:
For both levels a criminal record check will be performed at the time of hire to identify any convictions for felony or misdemeanor crimes; and the applicant must meet the requirements for Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) access as defined by the Alaska Department of Public Safety.Additional Required Information
This position requires using the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
