Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Bay City GPS on a fulltime basis.
The Role:
The Shift Leader Production will lead a small to medium group of production team members. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS focusing on Safety People Quality Responsiveness Cost and Environment (SPQRCE). Possess the ability to deal with complex problems. The selected candidate MUST have the ability to work any shift (1st 2nd 3rd) and overtime as needed.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities):
Maintain awareness of quality standards and communicate department quality goals and leverages resources to solve quality issues.
Build and maintain good working relationships with employees union and management and understand to consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
Responsible for the effective use of personnel material and equipment.
Participate in the selection of new employees and trains develops and evaluates salaried and hourly employees and the development of highly effective teams.
Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes across multiple departments.
Serve as lead resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics health and safety and housekeeping.
Motivates trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction control costs and achieve productivity improvements.
Coach teach counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.
Interface with OEMs.
Collaborate with Execution Controls Engineers.
Drive OSTS (Operator Support Tracking System) to completion.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
7 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience leading manufacturing teams.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work any shift (1st 2nd 3rd).
Ability to work overtime as needed.

Bachelors degree in a technical field.
Launch experience.
