Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

Job Title: Optometrist Ophthalmology

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Lincoln ME

Service Setting: Outpatient

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: 07/07/2025 26 weeks

Clinical Shift Schedule: Tuesday Friday 8:00 AM 6:00 PM 4day work week 36 hours/week 60minute lunch)

PATIENT INFORMATION:

Patient Demographics: All Ages

Patient Volume/Census: Average 16 patients per day

Case Mix: General Optometry

FACILITY INFORMATION:

Office Equipment Available: Standard Optometry Equipment

Support Staff Available: Yes

Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Rate: TBD

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES:

Provide quality eye care and emergency treatment

Examine eyes and visual system

Diagnose problems or impairments

Prescribe corrective lenses

Provide treatment and prescribe therapeutic for specific eye conditions

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Licenses: Active State License or willing to license

Board Certification: Required

Clean criminal and DHHS background

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide comprehensive eye exams and vision care

Diagnose and treat vision impairments and eye diseases

Prescribe glasses contact lenses and medications as needed

Document all patient interactions and treatment plans

Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure continuity of care
