ENTRY LEVEL SALARY:$40446 FULLTIME

Description of Occupational Work

This nonState position is anadmissions data processor responsible for converting applicants to clients. This position creates a positive personal connection while guiding applicants through the admissions process and connecting them to resources. This position will coordinate meetings with applicants interview them and verify income asset and identity information for admission into our housing programs. A successful admissions data processor will help applicants navigate through all aspects of admissions with a holistic approach enthusiasm exceptional communication engagement outreach and attention to detail.

Essential Functions

  • Communicates in person by telephone virtually and in writing with clients about the status of admission applications and responds to inquiries as well as offers solutions to applicant problems and requests regarding admission via telephone and in writing.
  • Guide prospective clients through the application process and explain the centralized waiting list. Build relationships with prospective clients and track their progress.
  • Conducts thorough and timely review of selective applications and supporting documents for specific programs to ensure proper completion and submission in compliance with the programs enrollment requirements.
  • Serves as a point of contact between applicants to housing managers or HCV staff with selective admissions requirements throughout the admissions process. Informs prospective clients of application status and requests for additional documents.
    • Collaborate with the compliance department and site staff to ensure that vacant units are filled with clients who qualify for the site and the program.
    • Coordinate with 3rd parties to get verifications of income child support health and social services assets medical deductions and other items as needed.
  • Ensure that all state and federal program requirements are followed all necessary documents and verifications are obtained.
  • Assist in mass interviews voucher briefing for new clients and other admission duties as needed.

  • Knowledge of mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people including the elderly and the mentally and physically disabled.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Housing Admissions Specialist
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Federal State and local regulations as they apply to HUDs requirements.
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures; including recordkeeping and document maintenance
  • One year experience in document processing including reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures resolving deficiencies interpreting information and tracking and monitor activities.
  • One year experience in data collection and entry including collecting compiling and maintaining data from multiple sources such as files records databases customers staff or others.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENING.
