Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Scenic Painter with proven expertise in heavy distressing and weathering techniques specifically for haunted attractions. The ideal candidate will excel at creating immersive aged and atmospheric environments that evoke the eerie and spooky ambiance essential to haunted house entertainment. You will collaborate with designers builders and event production teams to deliver unforgettable and atmospheric spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Apply Advanced Scenic Painting Techniques: Utilize specialized methods such as distressing and weathering to craft immersive atmospheric environments for haunted attractions.
Transform Event Spaces: Interpret and execute detailed design specifications to create realistic aged and spooky effects on sets and event spaces.
Work with Diverse Materials: Employ a variety of materials paints and finishes to achieve desired visual outcomes and thematic consistency.
Collaborate with Creative Teams: Work closely with production crews designers and fellow artists to ensure the seamless integration of scenic elements within the overall attraction.
Maintain Workspace Organization: Keep work areas clean and orderly ensuring all painting supplies and tools are properly managed and stored.
Support SetUp and Maintenance: Assist with the installation touchups and repairs of scenic elements throughout the event season to maintain highquality standards.
Uphold Safety Standards: Ensure all painted surfaces and scenic components are safe for interactive hightraffic environments adhering to relevant safety guidelines.
Assist with Teardown and Restoration: Participate in postevent teardown and help restore venues to their original condition as needed.
Qualifications
Requirements
Proven experience in scenic painting distressing and weathering specifically for haunted attractions or similar themed environments.
Ability to create clean finished environments when required.
Skilled in working with various materials and finishes to achieve realistic effects.
Strong portfolio showcasing relevant scenic painting and distressing work (portfolio submission is mandatory).
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical stamina to work long shifts and handle the demands of a fastpaced creative environment.
Positive attitude strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative allinclusive team culture
Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required by project timelines.
