  • Job Title: Middle School Special Education Teacher (EBD/ASD Preferred)

    Location:Watertown Mayer Pulbic School District Watertown MN

    Job Summary: The Middle School Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a middle school setting. Candidates with licenses or certifications in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities with a focus on meeting academic social emotional and behavioral goals.
    2. Provide differentiated instruction and accommodations to support the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities in inclusive and resource settings.
    3. Collaborate with general education teachers related service providers and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated support for students with disabilities.
    4. Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies and interventions accordingly.
    5. Implement evidencebased interventions and behavioral supports to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social interactions.
    6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress including IEP goals progress reports and behavior intervention plans.
    7. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress goals and strategies for support.
    8. Participate in professional development activities to stay abreast of best practices in special education and evidencebased interventions for students with disabilities.
    9. Adhere to all state and federal regulations governing special education services and maintain compliance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.
    10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Coordinator or building administration.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred).
    • Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education with endorsements in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred.
    • Experience working with middle schoolaged students with disabilities particularly those with emotional/behavioral challenges or autism spectrum disorders.
    • Strong understanding of evidencebased practices in special education and familiarity with behavioral interventions and supports.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues students and families.
    • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range can be found on our union negotiatedcontract; $42337$76149.
