How will you make an impact in this role
- Reviews data requirements / data stories and corresponding data sources and data architecture
- Documents data requirements / data stories and maintains data models to ensure flawless integration into existing data architectures
- Supports management of data assets as per the enterprise standards guidelines and policies
- Reviews and understands the processing requirements inclusive of data and transaction volumes scalability security and performance requirements
- Assists in building and improving the database design and infrastructure required to support the Business portfolio
- Assists in performing database design review and supports database testing
- Provides production environment support for database systems and processes
- Communicates and works closely with business and product teams to support changes and implementation
- Function as an active member if an agile team through consistent development practices (tools components and documentation)
- Finds opportunities to adopt innovative technologies
- Takes part in reviews of own work or with colleagues
- Work on prioritized/assigned features for ongoing sprints

Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:
- Understanding of Agile or other rapid application development methods
- Exposure to design and development onCassandra
- Exposure data model design.
- Configuring and buildingDatabase clusters
- Comfortable in tunningCassandraJVM and its parameters.
- Understandingquery read & write path.
- Understanding and experience of usage of different compactions strategies.
- Experience on addingdatabase nodes rack & Datacenters.
- Expert on usage of nodetool dsbulk nosqlbench sstableloader sstableupdate utility.
- Expert on Linux os
- Expert in usage DSE Opscenter or any other tool that can monitordatabasecluster.
- Knowledge on usage of Ansible scripts
- Experience in writing ELF or Splunk queries and can build dashboards to monitor logs
- Understanding to newer app frameworks and their interactions with Databases
- DSE driver configuration
- Good understanding and technical knowledge of DBMS products and ecosystem formats access algorithms data management processes administration data maintenance replication high availability encryption etc.
- General knowledge of distributed (multitiered) systems algorithms and relational & nonrelational databases
- Bachelors Degree in computer science computer science engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred
- Understanding of Agile or other rapid application development methods

- Creates basic data models using the relevant tools and frameworks
- Basic understanding of XML and schema development/reuse database concepts database designs Open Source big data technology and NoSQL will be an added advantage
- Application of industry recognized methods processes and standards
- Has understanding of the core tools used in the planning analyzing designing building testing configuring and maintaining of assigned application(s)
- Able to participate in assigned teams software delivery methodology (Agile Scrum Agile XP TestDriven Development Waterfall etc.) in support of data management and database development
- Familiar with infrastructure technologies and components like servers jvms databases and networking concepts
