Job Description

Job Summary

Respond to Work Orders and Perform Preventive Maintenance

Handle daily work orders set up jobs and carry out preventive maintenance on facilities and systems ensuring consistent operations and minimizing equipment downtime.

MultiTrade Repairs and Installations

Assist in and perform tasks related to plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry and mechanical systemssuch as installing fixtures repairing drains pulling wire and replacing switches and outlets.

Use of Tools and Equipment

Regularly operate hand and power tools for traderelated tasks including clearing drains running power equipment and performing skilled laborer duties tied to system maintenance.

Site Preparation and Minor Construction Work

Support construction or remodel activities by tearing down and setting up sites building basic formwork pouring concrete and installing signage blinds or windows.

Shop and Equipment Maintenance

Maintain the organization cleanliness and readiness of tools and equipment and ensure work is performed safely and within university procedures and protocols.

Education and Experience

Any combination of experience and training equivalent to three years of handson experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair or comparable experience as a trades assistant or laborer with demonstrated proficiency in the required duties.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range:Step 1: $27.46 Step 6: $30.32 per hour

Classification Range: Step 1: $27.46 Step 18: $38.45 per hour

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience skills knowledge abilities education licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position based on internal equity budget and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
