Department Overview

The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Coon Rapids is a 16bed 12room unit and is part of the Mother Baby Center at Mercy with Childrens Minnesota. The NICU team cares for babies who are 28 weeks and older and require a higher level of care than the newborn nursery provides as well as fullterm babies who may be sick have an anomaly needing respiratory support. We care for these babies and their families and provide education to help them learn how to care for their baby at home. Our team of nurses social workers occupational therapists physical therapists neonatologists and nurse practitioners work together to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the patients families and staff. Position Summary

Coordinates and provides familycentered nursing care to infants children and adolescents utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.

THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.

Education Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Current Minnesota RN licensure.
* Current BLS certification.

One (1) year nursing experience in a hospital setting.

Neonatal experience preferred.

* Based upon the unit in which you are applying additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained during orientation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or oncall work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
