Directs the action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks in order to ensure safe crossing of students.

The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required.   • Reports consistently for work as scheduled

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards

  • Directs action of children at an assigned crosswalk in order to ensure safe crossing

  • Directs visitors to office

  • Escorts children across the street and parking lots

  • Issues verbal warnings reports misconduct and requests assistance from appropriate personnel as required

  • Maintains communications with the building principal and/or Colorado Springs Police Department El Paso County Sheriffs Office or Air Force Security Police regarding incidents that occur at assigned locations that could potentially impact the safety of pedestrians

  • Monitors student(s) behavior ensuring their compliance to district/building rules policies and regulations

  • Supervises parking lots and school grounds

  • Ability to greet and interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner

  • Ability to provide a warm and caring attitude toward students

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision

  • Sits stands walks stoops kneels and crouches/squats while performing duties

  • Has oral and auditory capacity enabling interaction interpersonally and/or through communication devices

  • Uses eyes hands and finger coordination enabling the use of equipment and writing utensils

  • Works with arms extended at shoulder height with a weight up to 5 lbs.

  • Has oral and auditory capacity enabling interaction interpersonally and/or through communication devices

  • Distinguishes depth and objects in a wide field of vision

  • Conducts activities involving walking climbing stooping kneeling/bending crouching/squatting twisting and reaching

Required Qualifications:

First Aid/CPR American Heart Asc. / Red Cross / Etc. High school graduate high school diploma or equivalent
