Job Description

Ipswich Girls Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School offers high quality nondenominational education to students from Kindy to Year 12 (coeducation from Kindy to Year 6 girls only Years 712). Established in 1892 the School is one of eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A short 30minute drive from Brisbane our vast heritagelisted campus is conveniently located in the middle of Ipswich. We offer the opportunities of a large city with the quiet feel of a smaller town.

The School is seeking an enthusiastic motivated and dedicated Art and History teacher to join our closeknit academic team. This is a fulltime fixed term role for Semester 2 to support staff movements due to leave.

This role will primarily support senior school Visual Arts classes along with some middle school of History classes so your flexibility and ability to work within these speciality areas will be highly regarded.

You will work as part of an energetic team committed to excellence and the provision of an effective teaching and learning environment for students. This includes the delivery of teaching and learning programs within the frameworks in place in the School; fostering a supportive classroom climate which enhances student growth and confidence; and maintaining accurate records as required.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience developing and delivering comprehensive English academic program and

  • Be passionate about teaching and enriching the learning experience of students.
  • Have demonstrated experience or capability in teaching Visual Art and middle school level History within the Australian curriculum.
  • Differentiate the curriculum by employing a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives to meet the needs of all students.
  • Experience monitoring evaluating and reporting on student progress within the curriculum area using data analysis to inform classroom strategies for student development and improvement.
  • The ability to develop confidence and selfesteem in students and to act as a role model in presentation action and communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with highly developed organisational communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to participation in grounds supervision on a regular rostered basis.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia with relevant teaching qualifications and current registration or eligibility for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers being highly regarded.
