Job Description
Patient Account Representative Medical Billing
Granger Medical Clinic was founded in 1954. Two providers came together with the hope of better serving the Granger community (now West Valley City). Their practice steadily grew and in 1998 the clinic then 21 providers strong moved to a larger building in West Valley City. Today Granger Medical Clinic has become one of Utahs largest physicianowned medical groups with 28 locations now spanning four counties reaching from Bountiful to Payson and Sandy to Tooele.
Our Medical Billing department is looking for a Patient Account Representative to join the team. A Patient Account Representative will take care of patients calls inquiring about their medical bill. The patient account representative assists patients with anything that has to do with the submitting and/or payment of claims. Even though medical billing experience its preferred entry level candidates with medical customer service background are welcome to apply!
Location: Taylorsville
Schedule: Monday Friday from 8:00 5:00pm
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Excellent customer service communication multitasking and organizational skills.
Typing / keyboarding skills
Must be a team player and enjoy working with people.
Must be able to read understand and communicate in English.
Be able to read Explanation of Benefits and understand coinsurance copays and deductibles
Essential Functions and Duties:
Greet patients presenting for medical or other services in a courteous manner.
Answer telephones in a professional manner.
Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with physicians clinic staff and patients regarding their billing questions.
Follow up with denial reps and medical coders to have claim reviewed and rebilled
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
1 2 year of Medical Receptionist or Patient Account Representative experience preferred
1year Billing or Coding experience preferred
Recent medical customer service experience
- Ability to speak Spanish is helpful but not required.

The salary range listed is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience education and/or skill level.
