Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to support a federal client by fabricating assembling installing and maintaining refrigeration cooling and heating systems and components. This position requires interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure efficient and safe operation of systems across various facilities including warehouses hospitals and office buildings.
Responsibilities
- Install maintain troubleshoot and repair commercial/industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Understand systems using mechanical/vapor compression absorption and air cycles
- Conduct performance checks and replace defective components to ensure system reliability
- Diagnose problems by inspecting pressure/temperature of units and related parts
- Repair or replace fans motors compressors thermostats valves filters and controls
- Position and install system components (compressors condensers evaporators etc.)
- Connect piping auxiliary control mechanisms and testing devices
- Charge systems and test for leaks and performance efficiency
- Disassemble and reassemble units such as chillers pumps and condensers
- Read and interpret blueprints technical manuals and specifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience
- EPA Certification
- CPR Certification
- Valid Drivers License
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs (with assistance for heavier loads)
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds
- Ability to work in confined and elevated spaces
- Prolonged standing bending kneeling and crawling
- Normal vision required
