You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Pediatrics Division of Nephrology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting a fulltime faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level without tenure by reason of funding on the FacultyScientist track. The appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position will also include an appointment in a Center consistent with the facultys area of research at Seattle Childrens Research Institute. The successful applicant will be expected to build and maintain a focused research program that can expand with NIH grant funding. The position includes 7580% protected time for research with 2025% clinical effort divided between inpatient service and outpatient clinics. Anticipated start date is July 1 2025.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30). Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30). Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.
As the second largest Department in the UW School of Medicine Pediatrics has twentyone clinical divisions with approximately 1400 academic appointments including approximately 650 paid faculty members 134 residents 70 ACGME fellows 230 staff employees and over 600 volunteer/affiliate faculty and continues to grow each year. The Department of Pediatrics is a close affiliate of Seattle Childrens Hospital (SCH) and Seattle Childrens Research Institute (SCRI). Faculty members appointed in the Department are located at various institutions (including Seattle Childrens UW Medicine and FHCRC) and are part of the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) clinical practice plan.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor range: $12226 $18339 per month ($146712 $220068 annually) Associate Professor range: $14855 $22282 per month ($178260 $267384 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan.
Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative duty supplement (ADS).
Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in pediatrics and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
