Position: Project Manager

Work location: Dallas Texas

Job Duties:

Plan direct or coordinate usually through subordinate supervisory personnel activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures facilities and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization scheduling budgeting and implementation.

Plan manage and organize commercial construction projects within DPRs core markets. Coordinate and manage project teams both in the office and in the field. Support modelbased project management process workflows and construction technology deployment. Manage and mentor project engineers to enhance their skills and performance. Ensure project teams operate efficiently and effectively. Sell new work to clients while managing ongoing projects. Negotiate and process change orders for added scope and design changes. Track construction project progress and prepare monthly reports for clients. Prepare work scopes issue contracts and assist with budget and scheduling matters. Manage subcontractors to ensure completion of their scope of work. Run selfperform crews for electrical waterproofing concrete drywall doors and Unistrut scopes. Review General Contractor Shop Drawings and ensure compliance with contract documents. Monitor testing and inspection records safety inspection logs and accident reports. Identify and formalize project changes preparing estimates for change order work. Resolve conflicting incomplete or ambiguous design information. Interface with designers engineers and clients to address constructability issues. Update billing and tracking systems. Forecast construction project budgets to ensure financial oversight and project viability.

Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in Construction Management Construction Engineering Civil Engineering or related field plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a construction managementrelated occupation.

Special Requirements:

Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:

Determine material properties and construction methods which influence design decisions and vice versa by applying DesignConstruction Integration identifying the connection between design and construction processes. Aid in the completion of construction projects using knowledge of specific construction systems in precast concrete prestressed concrete and heavy timber framing including design principles construction techniques and advantages and disadvantages. Determine quantities of various construction materials and work items needed for projects including estimating earthwork foundations structural systems mechanical plumbing and electrical systems and building finishes using AutoCAD Microsoft Excel and Quantity Takeoff Techniques. Complete Cost Data Analysis using cost data catalogs to determine benchmarks for estimating costs based on historical data and industry averages. Analyze costs submitted from various subcontractors and compare against the documented industry rates. Report project timelines create baseline schedule identify critical tasks and track progress using Primavera P6. Use Gantt Charts CPM (Critical Path Method) PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) LineofBalance (LOB) and Earned Value Management (EVM). Prepare lean meeting agendas team responsibility matrix meeting minutes and assign tasks for various meetings including owner/architect/contractor meetings subcontractor coordination meetings safety meetings and staff meetings. Create/track daily reports procurement logs submittal logs asbuilts testing and inspection logs RFI logs and change order logs.

Position also requires at least one semester of graduatelevel coursework or some experience in each of the following skills:

Advanced construction law contracts and risk management applicable to construction management; identification of common disputes and construction risks among the owner design professionals and contractor. Introduction to lean history concepts and methods; basic training modules in lean project delivery; application of lean management in construction projects. Analysis of construction contracts with an emphasis on troublesome provisions and solutions; demonstration of tools of negotiation and dispute resolution; ethics in construction.
