Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities (GS) is seeking an experienced GIS Professional to join its Houston Energy Houston Energy Investment Banking group at GS covers multiple subsectors of Energy including energy transition upstream midstream and oil services. GIS professionals are responsible for discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping developing mapping applications and tools and creating & managing a digital library of geographic maps among other duties. GIS professional will need to create presentation quality maps for upstream oil & gas midstream carbon capture & sequestering and renewable energy application.

Essential Job Functions
- Analyzing spatial data through the use of mapping software
- Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data
- Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources
- Creating shapefiles to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map
- Producing maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data including oil and gas operator statistics and operations locations
- Developing mapping applications and tools
- Converting physical maps into a digital form for computer usage
- Managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in geology geography surveying engineering or related field
- Oil & Gas Investment Banking experience is preferred
Basic Qualifications
- Working experience / knowledge of ArcGIS
- Attention to detail when creating maps
- Good interpersonal skills
Work Location
- This role is expected to be in the Houston office at least 4 days per week.
