Job Description

As a Senior Lead eSoftware Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial & Investment Bank in Markets Technology you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted marketleading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problemsolving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams contractors and vendors
- Doing secure high quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others.
- Lead team members via book of work management. Improve team through SDLC testing and continuous improvement of coding standards.
- Doing core development and delivery of KDB based systems including framework development.
- Develops scalable realtime processing solutions using Agile methodology.
- Develops secure and highquality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design application functionality and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a functionwide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks tools and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decisionmakers to consider the use and application of leadingedge technologies
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
- Handson practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) KDB Q Language
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable indepth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
- Deep understanding of KDB technology and Q language. Solid professional experience using KDB with atleast 2 yrs as lead.
- Deep understanding of KDBtick design and data organization performance implication of different approaches.
- Practical experience developing/running large datasets and optimizing query performance.
- Practical experience scaling and loadbalancing of KDB applications. Practical experience building resilient and highavailability KDB applications.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering Mathematics or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
AWS Experience
Experience in Terraform and Kubernetes from managing a Production Plant in Public Cloud.
Experience in other language e.g. Python/C/C/Java
