Job Description:
The food service team member properly receives all merchandise delivered to Marketplace Food Court. They check products and confirm invoices for accuracy overall product quality and appropriate date labeling. The individual ensures items are safely stored using the FIFO method of product rotation. This position assist with ensuring availability of staple items identified through established departmental par levels are communicated to the Executive Chef in a timely manner for ordering purposes. As the Marketplace Food Court steward the team member is responsible for the daily set up of the dishwasher and dishwashing station. They are responsible for ensuring all approved safety protocols are followed while cleaning dishes pots and pans. The employee will ensure that the dish room pot room servery and seating area are well maintained cleaned and sanitized.
Receiving Duties
Receive deliveries as required and ensures all food is properly placed in the assigned location.
Check for appropriate due dates on boxes and inspect for quality accuracy or damage.
Ensures items are safely stored using the FIFO method of product rotation
Ensures Walk in coolers are kept according to Public Health standards and all food is stored safely.
Ensures all fresh food storage containers are kept clean and sanitized daily.
Works closely with Executive Chef to maintain/revise established stock par levels
Participates in monthly inventory counts
Stewarding Duties:
Fill dishwasher and ensure machine is clean holds at proper temperatures and that appropriate detergents are available.
Set up dish room for service and wash dishes pots and trays ensuring proper storage.
Washes all dishes pots pans trays trolleys and utensils. Empty and clean dishwasher at the end of the shift
Empty clean and sanitize sinks daily.
Wash soiled rags in washing machine.
Clean and sanitize dining hall tables and servery while emptying customer garbage containers as needed throughout the day.
Required Qualifications:
Secondary School (Grade 12 equivalent );
One (1) year experience in a high volume food service operation knowledge of advanced food preparation considered an asset;
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task;
Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
Ability to work effectively under pressure;
Ability of providing efficient courteous and tactful service;
Ability to lift bend push pull and stock a variety of merchandise; (up to 44 lb )
Ability to work flexible hours if required.
