Job Description

Grade 2 TeacherLocation: Israel Loring Elementary SchoolReports to: PrincipalPosition Summary: Israel Loring Elementary School is seeking a qualified Second Grade Teacher who will work collaboratively with the team and be primarily responsible for the development of appropriate curricula daily high quality instruction and the ongoing success of each and every student in the Duties & Responsibilities: Plan develop and utilize a variety of instructional materials and aids appropriate to the intellectual and instructional level of students from varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds that possess a range of mental and emotional maturity; Provide group and individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities; Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices; Evaluate academic growth of students and maintain appropriate records; Participate in curriculum development gradelevel activities and schoolwide functions; Support students academic social and emotional development; Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards; Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards; Communicate effectively and consistently with students families and colleagues; Provide support accommodations and attention to all students; Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to school improvement efforts; Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom and managing behavior; Complete other related duties as : SEA Unit Position Work Year: 183 days (1.0 FTE)Salary: Commensurate with education and experience based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
