Overview

Supervisor Cardiac Services

Fulltime; 1.0 FTE

Days Monday Friday flex to other shifts as needed

Location: Dubuque IA

The Heart Center Supervisor provides leadership support as part of the Heart Center management team supporting the Directors overseeing the Cardiac Service Line in their responsibility for the development implementation and evaluation of care provided by the Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiac Outpatient Center and Noninvasive Diagnostic Team consistent with the established strategic plan goals and objectives for Patient Care Services. The Heart Center Supervisor carries out the daytoday operations plan of the department under the direction of the Directors overseeing the Cardiac Service Line. The Heart Center Supervisor serves as a clinical resource to other healthcare team members on the designated unit. May assume a patient care assignment based on department needs. The Heart Center Supervisor coordinates unit management activities and department staff development in conjunction and collaboration with the Directors overseeing the Cardiac Service Line.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Preferred or Specialized

Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Education:

Registered Nurse:

Completion of an accredited nursing program

Be expected to obtain BSN degree within 3 years of accepting position.

Radiologic Technologist:

Graduate of an accredited radiologic science program that is recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Registered Nurse

BSN

Experience:

Three years of clinical experience in a clinical setting

Recognized knowledge and expertise in caring for specific patient populations

License(s)/Certification(s):

Possess current RN or ARRT / permit to practice licensure in the State of Iowa or compact state

Maintain current BLS certification

Maintain current ACLS / Core certification

Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for workrelated reasons

Specialty certification

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Writes reads speaks and comprehends fluent English

Ability to lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams

Ability to direct others and to exercise judgment in problemsolving scenarios

Ability to lead and/or participate in multidisciplinary teams

Possess a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice and an expanded knowledge of current clinical and specialized patient care concepts.

Possess a broad and varied knowledge base that is continually enhanced through selfdirected study and participation in educational opportunities.

Ability to successfully complete basic computer course through inhospital training; develops and maintains necessary computer skills including Word and Excel.

Possess knowledge of performance improvement and quality standards.

Other:

Must meet all components of the job description for either a Cardiac Cath Lab RN or RT
