Scheduled Weekly Hours:
0Emplify Health by Gundersen is looking for a OnCall Child Life Specialist to join our team! This position would primarily cover main surgery with opportunities to provide child life services in various other departments throughout the daytime shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide emotional supportto children and families during medical procedures and hospital stays.
Develop and implement therapeutic play activitiesto help children cope with their healthcare experiences.
Educate children and familiesabout medical procedures and treatments in a childfriendly manner.
Collaborate with healthcare professionalsto create a supportive and comforting environment.
Advocate for the needs of children and familieswithin the healthcare setting.
What Will You Need
Bachelors degree in child life or a related field
Completion of an ACLP (Association of Child life Professionals) approved child life internship.
2 years child life specialist experience
What is Available
OnCall
Schedule: Dependent on coverage needs; Primary need: inpatient unit 8:00am4:30pm. Other shifts may include surgery/clinic 6:00am2:30pm and ER 1:30pm10:00pm shifts.
