Summary of Job Duties:
The Mobile Grocery Store Manager 12month fulltime provisional position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a mobile grocery store. This includes managing the stores mobile unit ensuring the availability of quality products and providing excellent customer service. The Grocery Store Manager must maintain efficient inventory control ensure safety and cleanliness standards improve service delivery meet established goals and collaborate with program staff to provide access to affordable nutritious foods. The Grocery Store Manager will operate the store at several sites each week throughout the city including supervising all onsite activities with support of staff interns and volunteers. The Grocery Store Manager reports to the Director of the University District. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business administration social work public administration public health or related field.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Three or more years of experience in a standard retail or deliverybased business;
- Experience with managing inventory including ordering stock and maintaining stock levels;
- Experience working with food insecurity programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daytoday operations of the mobile grocery store ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently while adhering to organizational policies and safety regulations;
- Manage train and supervise a team of interns and volunteers;
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure all staff members follow proper customer service protocols;
- Provide excellent service by addressing customer inquiries resolving complaints and ensuring customers have a positive experience during their visits;
- Manage stock levels track product availability order supplies and perform regular inventory checks to prevent shortages or overstocking. Ensure proper storage and handling of goods;
- Monitor the condition of the mobile grocery store ensuring it is clean functional and fully stocked for each trip. Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs;
- Plan and manage the schedule and routes for the mobile grocery store to ensure timely and efficient service in different areas of the city. Optimize routes to minimize fuel costs and maximize customer reach;
- Ensure compliance with local health safety and regulatory guidelines. Maintain proper sanitation procedures for food handling and overall store cleanliness;
- Track daily sales manage cash flow and ensure accurate cash handling procedures;
- Work with the marketing team to promote the mobile grocery store services and offerings through social media local advertising or partnerships with local businesses;
- Provide regular updates on store performance customer feedback and operational issues to the Director and other key program staff;
- Ensure all staff are kept informed of organizational policies promotions and updates.
