- Fills orders accurately and according to Departmental procedures.
- Compounds and fills IV admixtures accurately and according to Departmental procedures.
- Assists pharmacists by screening inquiries phone calls and door/window visits that deal strictly with the disposition of medications.
- Delivers medications controlled substances and IV fluid and restocks automated medication dispensing machines and manual floor stock areas according to Departmental standards.
- Performs monthly inspections of assigned nursing/treatment areas where medications are stored in the specified time period.
Qualifications :
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program approved by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy. Training programs accredited by the American Society of Hospital Health System Pharmacists.
- Successful completion of the departmental IV training.
- Registration as a pharmacy technician with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred ( CPhT)
- Completion of a high school level of course work with attainment of a high school diploma or possession of a State High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) is required.
- Minimum of oneyear experience as a hospital pharmacy technician or equivalent work experience is required.
