Job Description

A talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher is required to join a wellregarded Independent school in Barnet for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will cultivate a love of music and develop musical skills in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 1116) fostering their creativity and appreciation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan prepare and deliver engaging Music Teacher lessons covering performance composition and appreciation across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Music examinations ensuring a strong understanding of musical theory and history.
  • Foster a creative and collaborative environment where students can explore their musical talents and develop their performance skills.
  • Contribute to the organisation of extracurricular musical activities such as choirs bands and instrumental ensembles.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Music.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Music Teacher lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong musical skills including performance ability on at least one instrument and a solid understanding of music theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of inspiring a passion for music in students of all abilities.
