Job Description
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer (Python and Big Data) to join our team to build out our research marketmaking and risk management platforms. You ll be responsible for designing and scaling the core data infrastructure that powers all of these platforms as well as integrating new data sources and market APIs as we expand our footprint. You ll work closely with researchers and engineers working on our price forecasting and grid optimization technology and directly with internal users on our Business Operations team.
Requirements
- You have 2 years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- You have experience delivering complex engineering projects in collaboration with other engineers.
- You are an excellent coder and adept at moving projects through all stages of the software development lifecycle: specification prototyping implementation code review testing deployment monitoring and incident response.
- You are experienced and comfortable building data pipelines and working with traditional relational databases as well as cloudbased data warehouses. Experience with Machine Learning concepts and technology is a plus.
- You are a lifelong learner and an empathetic teacher. We re committed to the growth and development of our teammates. We work towards a shared understanding by listening with intent and holding open discussions because we know thats how well deliver quality results.
- We believe strong foundations are more important than specific technical knowledge but experience with any part of our stack (Python PostgreSQL Snowflake AWS) is a plus.
