Job Description

Job Summary:

The purpose of this job is to collect analyze and share data. Additionally the position supports tasks related to zone transfers demographic planning and student support services.

Essential Duties

  1. Calculates and reports student membership forecasts and participates in related longterm planning.
  2. Uses geographic information systems (GIS) and collaborates with the Bedford County planning commission to analyze longterm school planning.
  3. Oversees the student zone transfer process.
  4. Collects analyzes and reports student data to inform and advise stakeholders on planning and programming decisions.
  5. Works with the Coordinator of School Counseling and Testing to support departments and schools in tasks related to school accreditation and accountability data.
  6. Facilitates data discussions between departments and with schools.
  7. Reviews and approves/denies external research requests.
  8. Assists the Director of Student Support Services in supporting and leading various programs within the department.
  9. Provides reports to the executive staff and directors as requested.
  10. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
  11. May be required to attend local and state conferences meetings or trainings to keep up to date with current requirements for collection and reporting of data.
  12. Performs related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in education data sciences business or public administration with preference given to applicants who demonstrate experience in educational planning educational data and/or educational leadership. Alternatives to the above qualifications shall be determined as the School Board or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving history.

Physical Demands

Performs sedentary work that involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time: requires little or no dexterity.
