The iconic Hotel del Coronadois looking for aRestaurant Assistant General Managerto join their food & beverage team! Joinone of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a$400M renovationand expansion the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego this 28acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms cottages and villas with 65000 square feet of banquet space and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants 2 bars a food truck marketplace ice cream shop and inroom dining.

In this role you will be overseeing the open of the Hotel de Coronados Nobu Restaurant managing a team of 75 Front of House Team Members reporting to the Restaurant General Manager.
The ideal candidate willmust be an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences a talent for training and developing others and experiencedinall aspectsof restaurant operations ex. financial performance social media reputation local market capture and employee relations. At least 2 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager role in an upscale dining environment is required. Strong beverage knowledge and prior luxury hotel experience are a plus.

- Pay Rate:The annual salary range for this role is$75000 $80000and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
Marking the continued expansion of The Dels culinary experiences Nobu Del Coronado will be the newest addition to the worldrenowned Japanese restaurant empire founded by Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro.
Nobu Del Coronado will offer over 3700 square feet of stunning indoor and al fresco oceanfront dining space including an outdoor covered patio dining with a pagoda bar and dedicated sushi bar.
What will I be doing
As aRestaurant Assistant General Manager you would be responsible for directing and organizing the activities and services of a hotel food and beverage outlet in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Manage all outlet operations to include but not limited to guest service standards and initiatives product quality cost controls and overall profitability marketing initiatives systems use and management budgeting and forecasting department management policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include but not limited to providing supervision and professional development conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
- Monitor and assess product and service and satisfaction trends evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
- Ensure compliance with health safety sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
- Initiate and implement marketing and upselling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue
- Ensure team members have current knowledge of outlet offerings products services facilities events pricing and policies and knowledge of the local area and events
- Recruit interview and train team members
