Job Title: Vice President Alberta/British Columbia Alternatives Distribution BMO Global Asset Management

Overview:

As Vice Presidentcovering Alberta and British Columbia for the Alternatives Distribution Team you will play a crucial role in growing assets and revenues managing distribution channels and nurturing investor relationships within private markets and alternatives for BMO GAM. You will collaborate closely with internal teams external partners and clients to execute strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives. The successful candidate must show understanding and knowledge of Private Equity (Primaries Secondaries & Coinvestments) Real Assets (Infrastructure and Real Estate) and Private Credit. Even though the role is both institutional and retail wealth focus the successful candidate must show experience in working with wealth advisors and family offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of sales strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.
  • Distribution Management: Support the management of distribution channels effectively to ensure broad market penetration and maximize sales opportunities in your region.
  • Investor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential investors addressing their inquiries and needs promptly and professionally.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the firms products and services to effectively articulate value propositions to clients and investors.
  • Pitch Development: Collaborate with the marketing/IR team to create compelling pitch materials and presentations tailored to specific client needs and preferences.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance metrics track client engagement and generate regular monthly and quarterly reports for investors and internal management.
  • Events and Conferences Participation: Represent the firm at industry events conferences and seminars to network with key stakeholders and promote brand visibility.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new clients through targeted outreach and relationshipbuilding efforts with our internal and external partners.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with BMO GAM Wholesalers Internal Sales Wholesalers external partners industry players including institutional investors family offices and financial advisors.
  • Client Servicing: Provide exceptional client service throughout the sales cycle from initial contact to postsale support and relationship management.
  • CRM Management Leadership: Utilize available CRM systems effectively to track interactions manage client data and generate actionable insights for business development.
  • Feedback Implementation: Use client and investor feedback to drive product and service improvements enhancing overall client satisfaction and retention.
  • Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in all sales and investor relations activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with client relationships investments and market developments to protect the firms interests.
  • Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest standards of integrity professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions with clients investors and colleagues.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members fostering their professional growth and development. Stay updated on industry trends regulatory changes and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Problem Solving: Address client inquiries concerns and challenges promptly and effectively demonstrating a solutionsoriented approach.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years experience in Alternative Investments or Asset Management (Investment Banking or Capital Markets experience would be considered if the candidate can show a deep passion and understanding in Alternatives).
  • Bachelors degree in finance business economics or related field; MBA CAIA or CFA is a plus.
  • If from Alternatives background: proven experience in sales distribution or investor relations within the private markets sector.
  • If from Investment Banking background: proven ability to lead a mandate under the supervision of a senior banker.
  • If from Capital Markets background: proven ability to pitch close and manage clients on complex trades/products (Derivatives Fixed Income Credit etc..
  • Strong understanding of private markets industry financial products investment strategies and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients investors and industry partners.
  • Attention to detail analytical mindset and problemsolving skills.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as French Mandarin Cantonese etc. is a plus.

$84000.00 $156000.00

Pay Type:

The above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Groups total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performancebased incentives discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards.
