Position Summary:
Maintains the grounds and landscaping of the hospital complex.
Reports to: Supervisor
FLSA: Nonexempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inspects grounds to ensure safe conditions in all seasons. Cleans grounds by raking sweeping shoveling and salting.
Prepares and grades terrain. Digs trenches and installs drain tile.
Maintains grounds as necessary through pruning trimming seeding watering planting fertilizing weeding and moving.
Assists with the delivery and pick up of items for hospital related functions (on and off hospital premises). Picks up trash containers and transports to terminal areas.
Operates and maintains equipment and supplies used in performance of duties including pickup truck with plow loader sprinkler system snow blower lawn mower eater power saw and other equipment.
Makes minor repairs to concrete walks curbing and driveways.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree (Preferred)
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
