Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our Oligonucleotide Chemical Development team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to develop robust processes for the synthesis of oligonucleotides. We are looking for someone who is passionate about exploring novel scientific ideas and plays a key role in developing new cuttingedge technologies with a vision to push clients stateoftheart science in oligonucleotide synthesis that can ultimately impact patient lives.
The professional scientific staffing services role is a position within the suppliers organization under which lab work is conducted at a client facility. Work is assigned by a supervisor from the supplier company but is executed within Client labs using Client instrumentation and supplies. Technical feedback and final review of data are the responsibilities of Client personnel but all performance feedback and daytoday supervision will be provided by the supplier supervisor.
Job Description:
This scientist will work in our oligonucleotide development laboratories located in Cambridge Massachusetts. The responsibilities include oligonucleotide synthesis process development characterization and scaleup to support the development and production of drug candidates. The individual will explore novel ideas to improve the oligonucleotide synthesis process for superior consistency or productivity. The position also involves developing synthesis processes of nonplatform oligonucleotides. The ability to design perform and record experiment procedures and data interpret data and write development reports is critical.
Main job responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with development teams to design and conduct laboratory experiments to optimize and/or characterize the synthesis processes of oligonucleotides with an emphasis on improvement in process robustness and productivity and control of impurities.
- Record the experimental procedures and data accurately.
- Communicate research results effectively by writing research reports and presenting data in team meetings.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in a Scientific Discipline required and 4 years of experience OR
- Masters Degree in a Scientific Discipline required and 2 years of experience
- Experience working with LC/MS is required
- Areas of specialization reside in the fields of synthetic organic chemistry with excellent synthetic skills and a deep understanding of reactivity and reaction mechanisms.
- Must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment and effectively communicate in written and oral forms.
- The individual must be selfdriven an independent thinker vigorous and thorough in conducting experiments collecting and interpreting data drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
- Experience in nucleoside chemistry or oligonucleotide synthesis is preferred but not required.

Additional Details:
